On Jan 7th, the National Assembly Budget Office held a special lecture under the theme “Observation on the Management of Sovereign Wealth Funds” by inviting Dr. Robert C. Merton, a 1997 Nobel laureate and professor emeritus of Harvard University, in Conference Room 1 of the National Assembly Member’s building. In the day’s lecture, Dr. Merton stressed the need to set up policy goals in the management of sovereign funds and emphasized the importance of managing sovereign funds according to the national circumstances, since all nations differ in asset risks or debt levels.
