The purpose of this report is to analyze the problem and improvement measures of support program for multicultural families in Korea. This report is focused on not only reviewing performances and problems with regard to support for multi-cultural families but also suggesting measures for improvement.
Due to the rapid increases in the number of multicultural families in Korea, Many of them are struggling with various difficulties, including ethnic prejudice, social discrimination and language barriers. Therefore, central and provincial gov-ernments provided many multicultural programmes, however, the analysis of the supporting programmes to the National Assembly has not been reported yet
This report suggests policy recommendations in terms of budget and legislation to enhance its efficiency for multicultural families. This review includes how to im-prove the quality of the programmes in the area of korean language education, job finding, child care etc.
