This report provides NABO's projection of tax revenue and non-tax revenue at the central government level for the next 5 years including the current year.
Tax revenue for the fiscal year of 2009 is estimated to be 164.1 trillion won and nontax revenue(meaning total revenues excluding tax revenue) to be 114.3 trillion won. These figures are smaller than the estimates of the executive branch by 0.3% and 1.3%, respectively.
And, for the fiscal year of 2010, tax revenue is forecasted as 167.5 trillion won, non-tax revenue as 119.5 trillion won. For tax revenue, NABO's forecast is smaller than that of the government by 0.7% and, for nontax revenue, the former is greater than the latter by 0.2%.
The projections of total revenue and tax revenue of executive branch are greater than those of NABO for the fiscal year of 2009~2013. This result is deprived from the government's optimistic view for the future macroeconomic environment. Therefore, in case that they give weight on the national fiscal health, the executive branch should take a conservative view on the macroeconomic environment.
