The Korean government’s 2011 total expenditure amounts to 309.1 trillion won, and enters the age of 300 trillion won for the national finance since this year. The national finance is based on the citizens’ taxes and should be operated efficiently and soundly. For this reason, the National Assembly should validly exercise the fiscal power throughout the whole budget process. In the meantime, they need to master the full fiscal information. Since 2004, the National Assembly Budget Office (NABO) has annually published “National Finance of Korea,” which informs the fiscal information properly to support the National Assembly’s right and efficient exertion of its fiscal authority.

“National Finance of Korea at a Glance 2011” is the abridged version of “National Finance of Korea.” This book includes the present conditions of the budget allocation, fiscal soundness, and the National Assembly’s deliberations and decisions on the budget bill, adds the information of the fiscal year 2010 settlement of account, and illustrates many charts and diagrams so that we can understand the contents easily.
