This research evaluates the validity of Supporting Policies for Medium and Small Sized Companies, on which government spends 1,500 billion won per year. Through SWOT analysis, the government’s point of view and the necessity of government supports are introduced in the first part and problems as well as alternatives of Supporting Polices for Medium and Small Sized Companies are pointed out in the latter part.
First of all, there is a lack of basic information related to overseas expansion of the companies in current government’s supporting policy. In what is called custom-made service, oversea marketing supporting project, which has been received a major portion of financial support form the government, is planed and executed without fundamental information. Therefore, problems of duplication and likeness should be solved in applied service part such as the oversea marketing support project. Moreover, a new policy should be considered to leave custom-made service to private sectors. In addition, overseas support centers executed by each ministry and local autonomous entity should be either integrated or differentiated one to another.
