Major Evaluation Systems on National Finance

 The executive government has been evaluating its policies and programs based on 「The Government Work Evaluation Act」 and other related laws to improve efficiency, effectiveness and responsibility of government works. Such evaluation systems can be considered to be an effort of the executive government to evaluate the government work and to feedback the evaluation results to policies or programs.
Several evaluations of the government works are being carried out in various fields such as major policy, financial performance, and administrative capacity by the central government, local government, and public bodies. Evaluations that are related with public finance are also closely connected with functions of the national assembly that play a major role in national finance management through legislative power and budget confirmation authority. Therefore it must be meaningful for the congress to identify and understand the major contents of government evaluation systems.
This report introduces various evaluation systems implemented by diverse level of executive governments. This evaluation report shows various evaluation systems such as financial program evaluation, information program evaluation, fund management evaluation, financial analysis and diagnosis of local government that affect the national finance and lives of citizens very significantly.
